A high sensitivity chemiluminescent detection system for your Western blot. User defined protocol, no focusing, a three year warranty and great price. Base model under $10K

Dedicated chemiluminescence imaging system – great Westerns without film!

You love the sensitivity that chemi brings to Western blot imaging but hate the drama of using film to get it. Utilising the GeneGnome XRQ’s optimised short ‘camera to sample’ technology, you’ll get more than double the dynamic range of film, making it easy for you to see picogram or femtogram protein levels without all the fuss.

The GeneGnomeXRQ is dedicated to chemiluminescence imaging and is built for high performance and automation, featuring a high quantum efficiency CCD camera.

The compact instrument sits on any laboratory bench taking up very little space. The GeneGnome XRQ requires an external PC for use.

The system is controlled by GeneSys application driven image capture software and comes complete with unlimited copies of GeneTools analysis software.

Features

Dedicated chemi imaging system

  • Small footprint
    More space for your research
  • High quantum efficiency (QE) camera
    Detects your faintest bands
  • Automated chemiluminescent capture
    Perfect exposure without film
  • Cooled camera
No annoying background noise on your blots
  • Fixed lens controlled by GeneSys software
One click and you’ll image any manufacturer’s chemi reagents
  • GeneSys application driven image capture software
Contains extensive database of dyes and imaging protocols. All you need to know is the type of blot you’re using and GeneSys automatically selects the optimal lighting and filters to produce the perfect image
  • GeneTools analysis software (unlimited copies)
Analyse data on your own computer
  • Optimised – for imaging chemiluminescence Western blots
GeneGnome XRQ is configured for maximum sensitivity to ensure even the faintest band on a blot can be captured.
  • Sensitive cooled camera
The high quantum efficiency cooled CCD camera is very sensitive to low level light emissions from a blot. The peltier cooled camera has exceptional ‘signal to noise’ performance resulting in virtually undetectable background noise. The short ‘camera to sample’ distance further enhances the ability to work with chemiluminescence samples and reagents. When compared to film, the GeneGnome XRQ has more than double the dynamic range. This allows for extremely accurate quantification.

Since only the tranfer “sandwich” of gel, membrane and blotting papers must be kept wet, much less buffer is required than traditional tank transfer systems. Solid plate style electrodes (stainless steel cathode and platinum anode) assure even and complete molecular transfer.

G91-1010-SD System

Low cost and quick transfer times make this system is ideal for the rapid blotting of small pre-cast and self-cast gels. The 1010-SDBLT device will easily accomodate almost all pre-cast gels, and for many larger format pre-cast gels, once the stacking area of the gel is removed the “working” area of will also fit easily into the 1010-SDBLT device. System is supplied complete with power leads and a sample pack of our ultra-pure cotton fiber filter paper.

G91-2020-SD System

The larger format 2020 system is ideal for transfer of larger gels or simultaneous transfer of multiple smaller gels. System is supplied complete with power leads and a sample pack of our ultra-pure cotton fiber filter paper.

WPA CO8000 Cell Density Meter by Biochrom

Features

  • Single beam LED cell density meter measures OD at 600nm
  • Small, portable with rechargeable battery
  • Long lifetime LED source with little maintainance needed
  • Easy to use, clean and sterilise
  • Stores up to 99 results to download later

Description

The Biochrom WPA CO8000 is a robust, easy to use instrument dedicated to the measuring of the density of cells in suspension such as E.coli, yeast, cells and other cell cultures. This hand held instrument has an integral battery allowing it to be taken to where the cell cultures are growing e.g. in incubation cabinets, under anaerobic conditions or even in a fume hood or safety cabinets.

This robust instrument will accept a variety of cuvettes and tubes- including 10, 12, and 16mm diameter test tubes meaning it can be used with Erlenmeyer side arm flasks. With no warm up time, just switch it on and it’s ready to use giving you results that are comparable to larger, more expensive spectrophotometers. The cell density of the cultures can be measured and the results stored in the memory. The results are given in Absorbance Units (OD). Once all measurements are taken, the up to 99 sample results can be viewed on the easy to read screen or the instrument can be connected to a PC or printer and the results downloaded.

This low maintenance instrument uses an indefinite life LED with fibre optics and no filters. The rechargable battery automatically recharges when connected to the mains and allows up to 1 month’s normal use (under normal conditions) on a single charge. It is easily cleaned with ethanol or sterilized with formaldehyde or ethylene oxide.

It is important to note that cell cultures are turbid samples , so the Absorbance (OD) measured is due to light scattering, and not due to molecular absorption. Clumping together of cells will also affect readings, so the medium they are suspended in will also make a difference. This means that the actual reading obtained is very dependent on the collecting area of the detector after the sample and the optical geometry of the system. These vary depending on the make and model of instrument, so differences in readings between types of instruments are to be expected.

To use this instrument with cells other than yeast or E.coli known concentrations / cell counts (with replicates to gauge error limits) should be plotted against measured OD600 to construct a calibration curve.

An automated cell counter has never been this easy or affordable.Luna-II_2

  • Fully automated cell counting and cell viability analysis.
  • Autofocus technology for fast and reliable cell counting.
  • Trypan blue stained cell counting or non-stained cell counting methods.
  • Various histograms and cell-size gating.
  • Unmatched counting accuracy and speed.
  • Built-in computer and printer.
  • The most affordable running cost currently on the market. Don’t spend more money and waste time on slides that require you to peel off a protective film!

The Luna-II automated cell counter is the most advanced cell counter with unmatched speed, accuracy, and consistency of measurement. It is a stand-alone instrument integrating precision microscopy optics, an onboard PC, image analysis software, automatic focusing, and an optional built-in printer.

The Luna-II accurately detects total/live/dead cells at concentrations ranging from 5×10-4 cells/ml to 1×10-7 cells/ml and cell sizes between 3um and 60um.

NEW AUTOFOCUSING TECHNOLOGY

The LUNA-II™ automated cell counter has integrated a novel focusing mechanism based on liquid lens technology.
The liquid lens does not use any mechanical moving parts to change the Z stage. Instead, the Z position of the sample is rapidly
obtained by the application of a small voltage to the liquid lens. The elimination of moving parts removes noise and significantly
reduces the need for servicing. Even after multi-million cycles of focusing, the liquid lens does not require repair or service.
In combination with this novel focusing mechanism, the LUNA-II™ has integrated a new autofocusing algorithm optimized for
cell counting.

Cell Counting Accuracy: Declustering

The LUNA-II™ automated cell counting algorithm has been recognized to have the best-in-class cell counting accuracy. The LUNA™ software has exceptional accuracy in cell de-clustering and can successfully count clumpy cells. The LUNA-II™ automated cell counter has inherited this well-known performance aspect of the LUNA™ software. Clumpy cells are de-clustered quickly and automatically, then counted as individual cells.

Reduced Running Cost

Automated cell counters utilize disposable counting slides to eliminate washing steps of manual cell counting with the glass hemocytometer. Although disposable cell counting slides have several advantages, the increased running cost has been a substantial concern. Logos Biosystems developed a patented T-BOND technology to manufacture precision cell counting slides more efficiently. Therefore, the unit price of counting slides became much more affordable, providing significant cost savings.

Built-in Thermal Printer (optional)

A thermal printer is integrated in the LUNA-II™ automated cell counter, and the counting results can be printed immediately for record keeping purposes. Because the printer is already integrated in the LUNA-II™ automated cell counter, an additional cable connection is not required.

X-CLARITY II Tissue Clearing System

SECTIONING IS TIME. WE CUT THE TIME.

Tissues are inherently three dimensional in nature, which makes imaging intact tissues a necessity for a more complete study in the relationship between structure and function and the system-level study of cellular mechanisms. Tissue clearing has become an important step for imaging tissues in 3D at single-cell resolution.
The X-CLARITY™ is a collection of systems and ready-to-use reagents to standardize, simplify, and accelerate each step of the tissue clearing process. X-CLARITY™ is based on CLARITY (Clear Lipid-exchanged Acrylamide-hybridized Rigid Imaging / Immunostaining /in situ-hybridization-compatible Tissue hYdrogel), a tissue clearing method developed by the Deisseroth lab at Stanford. With CLARITY, preserved tissues are embedded in a hydrogel matrix and lipids are actively extracted through electrophoresis to create a stable and optically transparent tissue-hydrogel hybrid that is chemically accessible for multiple rounds of antibody labeling and imaging. Native cytoarchitecture remains intact and even endogenous fluorescence proteins are preserved for robust fluorescence imaging downstream.

tissue

Features

Easy installation, Ultrafast clearing, Reliable results

The new X-CLARITY II Tissue Clearing System from the imaging specialists at Logos Biosystems provides an all-in-one solution for electrophoretic tissue clearing. The groundbreaking CLARITY™ method developed by the Deisseroth Lab at Stanford University (Chung et al, Nature 497:332-337) provides unparalleled tissue samples for imaging. Combining an innovative electrode design and an integrated cooling system, the X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System allows for faster and more consistent tissue clearing.

Many researchers currently attempting the CLARITY™ method often encounter difficulties that range from instrument construction to poor clarifying, resulting in the loss of valuable samples. Days or even weeks spent processing a precious sample can end in frustration and disappointment.

The X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System greatly simplifies the CLARITY™ process, can clarify a whole adult mouse brain in under  48 hours, and dramatically increases your chances of obtaining transparent tissue samples for use in downstream labeling.

desc_bg_01

HOW IT WORKS ?

Typical negative effects related with conventional electrophoretic tissue clearing methods include burning, melting, the formation of black precipitates, and bubble trapping. The main causes of these artifacts are due to irregular electric currents and poor temperature control during electrophoresis. The X-CLARITY™ dramatically reduces the negative effects associated with standard electrophoretic  tissue clearing with a unique electrode design and an active cooling system. The X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System is composed of  four components: 1) the X-CLARITY™ ETC Controller, 2) X-CLARITY™ ETC Chamber 3) X-CLARITY™ pump and 4) X-CLARITY™ buffer reservoir.  The X-CLARITY™ ETC Controller works as both a power supply and temperature controller. At the heart of the X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System is the X-CLARITY™ ETC Chamber. A tissue sample is placed inside the X-CLARITY™ ETC Chamber where it undergoes electrophoresis  to remove lipids. Clearing buffer is continually circulated through the chamber under temperature controlled conditions, minimizing the probability of artifacts arising due to poor temperature control.

Highlights

  • Exceptional transparency
  • Fastest processing time
  • Easy installation and operation
  • Minimized artifacts
  • No leaking, no boiling
  • Pre-optimized protocol

desc_bg_03

ACCELERATE YOUR RESEARCH WITH THE X-CLARITY™ TISSUE CLEARING SYSTEM

Compared to other methods, the X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System dramatically reduces tissue clearing time. A whole adult mouse brain can be cleared in under 48 hours. Depending on the thickness, mouse brain slices may be cleared much faster. Additionally, the speed of  the X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System makes optimizing for other organs and tissues a much easier endeavor.

One of the most exciting features of the CLARITY™ technology is that, it allows for the penetration of and labeling with macromolecules  such as antibodies or oligonucleotides, generating unprecedented 3D images that show the relationship between structure and function.  Chemical tissue clearing technologies introduced in recent years generally do not accommodate labeling with macromolecules. CLARITY™ overcomes this limitation and even enables multiple rounds of antibody labeling. The X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System also successfully produces samples that demonstrate the efficient penetration of antibodies.

WHAT IS CLARITY™ ?

CLARITY™ is a novel technology that produces a transparent tissues by forming a hydrogel network that supports the ultrastructure while allowing for the removal of lipids. Unlike other tissue clearing methods, the CLARITY™ uniquely enables the efficient labeling  of tissues with macromolecules such as antibodies and nucleic acids, making high resolution imaging possible. CLARITY™ is expected  to overcome the current limitation of light microscopy technology, which does not allow the imaging of tissues without first creating  slices. CLARITY™ is the trademark of Stanford University.

Dual Fluorescence Cell Counting

The LUNA-FL™ Dual Fluorescence Cell Counter from Logos Biosystems is a quantum leap forward for automated cell counting and cell viability analysis. The LUNA-FL™ Dual Fluorescence Cell Counter gives you sensitive and accurate live/dead counts without  cell type restrictions. Unlike immortalized cell lines, primary cells such as PBMCs, splenocytes, neutrophils, and stem cells have been difficult to count with conventional cell counters such as the Coulter counter or automated image-based cell counters utilizing  bright field optics. Primary cells are often contaminated with undesirable debris that can be miscounted as cells with conventional  cell counters. The LUNA-FL™ is equipped with dual fluorescence optics to overcome this problem. Live and dead cells are stained  with green and red fluorescence dye, respectively, and subsequent cell images are analyzed with accurate image analyzing software

Syngene NuGenius and NuGenius+|Gel Documentation System

Syngene NuGenius and NuGenius+|Gel Documentation System

View Details

NuGenius is a new generation, low cost, integrated imaging system for DNA and protein analysis and gel documentation.

Complete gel documentation workstation

NuGenius is the ultimate in compact gel documentation workstations. Using a choice of UV, blue or white lighting options you can capture and edit images of fluorescent ethidium bromide, SYBR® Safe or GelGreenTM DNA gels and protein gels stained with Coomassie Blue at the workstation. You can even capture stain-free gel images using a NuGenius+ which is specially optimised for this application.

For an entry level system, the NuGenius comes with a ground breaking 5 million pixel CCD camera giving superb pixel resolution and unrivalled sensitivity. NuGenius offers a maximum viewing area of 20 x 24cm which is very large for such a small, compact unit.

NuGenius+ has been designed for stain free applications. NuGenius+ can be automatically set up in seconds to capture great images of TGX Stain-Free™ FastCast™ acrylamide gels, Mini-PROTEAN® and Criterion™ TGX Stain-Free™ precast gels. Utilising this cost-effective system for imaging stain-free gels will save researchers hours of staining preparation time.
