Description
The Biowave DNA uses novel optics that does not need a lid, for high energy xenon light source covers the range 190-900nm, has a long lamp lifetime. Simple selection software and large graphical display provides for ease of use and data interpretation. This instrument has a 2 year warranty and the Xenon lamp has a 3 year warranty.
Built in Life Science methods
The stored methods include DNA, RNA and oligonucleotide calculations, protein assays such as direct UV measurement, BCA, Biuret, Bradford and Lowry and cell density measurement. Unlike many dedicated life science instruments, the Biowave DNA can also measure Absorbance or concentration at any wavelength so there is complete flexibility for future applications. For added convenience it is possible to display a scan of the nucleic acid profile which is particularly useful for RNA samples where impurities may be present in the 230 nm region, yet not have an adverse effect on the 260/280 Absorbance ratio. The system is compatible with both Quartz and disposable low volume UV cuvettes.
Choice of data export options
The instrument can be used as a stand alone or results may be exported. Results can be printed directly using an (optional) integrated high quality graphical printer for a permanent record. Export options include via a USB connection to a suitable PC running Print Via Computer (PVC) software (included) for advanced reporting and data storage. Alternatively the SD card accessory (optional) allows laboratories to export to standard SD or SDHC memory cards. This will be particularly useful to laboratories wishing to clone methods and folders between instruments. Only one optional accessory can be fitted to each instrument.

The BioDrop CUVETTE micro-volume cuvette is an innovative solution for accurate low volume spectroscopy, providing the simplest way for life scientists to accurately quantify microlitre volumes of DNA and protein in almost any UV/Vis spectrophotometer. The BioDrop CUVETE micro-volume cuvette overcomes many of the disadvantages of conventional low volume instruments and is a valuable tool for the modern life sciences laboratory combining ease of use and greater accuracy than other techniques.
BioDrop CUVETE enables researchers the opportunity to convert conventional UV/Vis spectrophotometers into a low-volume UV/Vis spectrophotometer for a very reasonable price. They are ideal for nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) measurements, proteins, microarrays, and bacterial cultures. No dilution is required to perform the measurement and ~1ul of sample is needed. This enables researchers to preserve precious samples.
The BioDrop CUVETTE also offer exceptional measurement accuracy and the wide measurement range (7ng/ul - 12,000 ng/ul) means you do not have to worry about changing pathlengths. Simple to use and easy to clean, the BioDrop micro-volume cuvettes' robust design means they will withstand the wear and tear of daily use. Included with the BioDrop cuvette is a bubble viewer, which enables end users to inspect the sample for impurities such as dust or bubbles.

The BioDrop µLite is the ideal solution for life scientists whom speed AND accuracy in micro (or nano) liter measurements are required, rather than broad measurement range.
The BioDrop µLite has a unique, built-in sampling port dedicated to nano volume measurement using only a drop of precious sample. It can be used to measure nucleic acids (DNA or RNA), proteins, and cell density. The port is easy to use: simply pipette 0.5ul or more of sample in the center and measure! Cleaning the port is also easy! Simply wipe with a lint-free tissue and the BioDrop µLite is ready to perform the next measurement.
Stand-alone! No PC required! Fast measurements!
The BioDrop µLite is quick and easy to use. It has a large capacitive color touchscreen with on-board software for data acquisition and analysis. Pre-programmed methods for DNA, RNA, oligos, and proteins in the software reduce the time from measurements to results. In additions, data generated using the on-board software can be stored internally or transferred using a USB memory stick. Alternatively, both the PC-only and standalone instruments can be controlled using a PC and BioDrop Resolution Software. Users can also choose an optional built-in thermal printer for maximum flexibility.
No moving parts! Easy to maintain!
The BioDrop µLite has a built-in sample port with no moving parts. Because the pathlength does not change, the instrument provides excellent measurement reproducibility. Measurements made with the BioDrop µLite are also highly accurate because the pathlength is specified to +/- 5µm.
Best in class features!
First of its kind built-in sample port for microvolume measurements.
Exceptional pathlength accuracy - with no moving parts, the built-in sample port pathlength is fixed at 0.5 mm and specified to +/- 5 um.
Fast operation - switch on and measure a DNA sample in less that 4 seconds! And with only 4 screen touches!
Large, high res color touchscreen on standalone instruments.
USB connectivity for easy PC connection or data export.
BioDrop Resolution Life Science Software included at no cost - for powerful analysis!
